This process uses heated water and an alkaline solution to dissolve human remains, leaving no traces of DNA, pathogens or organic material that could pose risks to public health, according to proponents. The documentary features Dr. David Lewis, an EPA whistleblower and scientist and author of the book «Science for Sale: How the US Government Uses Powerful Corporations and Leading Universities to Support Government Policies, Silence Top Scientists, Jeopardize Our Health and Protect Corporate Profits.»

Lewis and other experts featured in the documentary argue that the EPA is compromising scientific integrity to facilitate the use of contaminated sludge, which contains a cocktail of toxic chemicals, heavy metals and potentially dangerous pathogens.
