Roberto Lopez Garcia, currently the Plant Manager of Mercedes‑Benz Vans in Buenos Aires, Argentina, will take over as Head of Production and Site at Mercedes‑Benz Ludwigsfelde GmbH on September 1, 2025. Thus, he will succeed Dr. Jörg Homering, who will return to Mercedes‑Benz AG and continue in the role as Head of Industrial Strategy at Mercedes‑Benz Vans.

Roberto Lopez Garcia began his professional career in 1998 as a purchaser at Mercedes‑Benz Vans in Spain. In 2004, he moved to the local HR department as Head of Personnel Development. In the further course of his career, Roberto Lopez Garcia has held various leadership positions in the areas of personnel and assembly at the Düsseldorf site, as well as in production in Buenos Aires. Since 2024, Roberto Lopez Garcia has been the Production Manager of the Mercedes‑Benz Vans plant in Argentina.

The Mercedes‑Benz Ludwigsfelde plant produces the cab-chassis variants of the Mercedes‑Benz Sprinter and eSprinter. In addition, the plant plays a leading role within the network in innovative production systems. In the future, the so-called launch factory will be established at the site for the new Mercedes‑Benz Van Architecture.
