A shocking new poll conducted by RMG Research has revealed a staggering level of disloyalty brewing within the ranks of federal government managers as the Trump administration prepares to take office.
According to the survey, nearly half of these Deep State bureaucrats—42%—admit they plan to actively resist the incoming president, a deeply troubling sign of division within the very system entrusted to uphold the will of the American people.
The poll, reported by The Daily Signal, surveyed three distinct groups: the so-called “Elite 1%,” comprising individuals with postgraduate degrees earning over $150,000 annually; “Main Street Americans,” representing about 75% of the U.S. population; and federal managers living in and around Washington, D.C., earning $75,000 or more. Of the federal managers polled, 44% said they would support the Trump administration, while an alarming 42% declared their intent to resist.

The numbers become even more revealing when broken down by political affiliation. Among Republican federal employees, an overwhelming 89% expressed plans to either “somewhat support” or “strongly support” Trump’s administration. In contrast, 73% of Democrat bureaucrats indicated they would either “somewhat resist” or “strongly resist” the incoming leadership.
This partisan divide isn’t just troubling—it’s treacherous. Federal employees swear an oath to serve the American people, not their own political agendas. Yet, a significant portion appears to be gearing up for open defiance of the duly elected president, undermining not only the administration’s authority but also the trust of the nation they are meant to serve.
Resistance Without Consequences?
One of the most glaring issues is the entrenched difficulty of removing insubordinate or ineffective employees from federal service. Over the years, government bureaucracy has created a system that shields bad actors, often promoting or transferring problematic employees rather than terminating them. This culture of unaccountability has allowed resistance and incompetence to fester unchecked.
However, the Trump administration’s focus on rooting out waste and abuse in federal spending could mean trouble for those who choose to openly defy their duties. Federal managers who draw too much attention to their resistance may find themselves facing scrutiny—or even removal—under a president committed to cutting through bureaucratic inefficiency.
The survey also highlighted a striking disconnect between federal managers and the average American. While “Main Street Americans” and the “Elite 1%” showed alignment on critical issues like the economy and immigration, federal managers prioritized concerns like climate change, gun control, and equality—issues that ranked far lower among the general population.
This misalignment underscores a deeper problem: a federal bureaucracy increasingly out of touch with the people it serves. As President Trump prepares to take office with a mandate for change, these priorities may further expose the growing divide between government officials and everyday citizens.
Federal employees must remember their oath of service. Resistance to the will of the American electorate is not a badge of honor—it’s a betrayal of the very foundation of democracy. And under a president like Donald Trump, those who choose defiance over duty may soon find themselves paying the price.
