From its world premiere in Rome last month to an artistic debut in Manhattan, the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA is already proving itself as the perfect canvas for a new class of creatives to leave their mark. As the most intelligent and efficient series production car ever made by Mercedes‑Benz, the CLA serves as the ‘muse’ for the new ‘Class of Creators’ initiative, a global multi-collaboration with five visionary artists shaping the future of music, fashion, design and beyond.

The unveiling of a one-of-a-kind Mercedes-Benz CLA art piece by Ice Spice marked the debut of the ‘Class of Creators’ and was celebrated during the grand opening of the newly renovated Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan dealership. The four-time Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum artist was the first of the five partners to receive the keys to the new CLA, creating a unique art piece that fuses Mercedes-Benz DNA with her unmistakable creative signature and personality. Her molten chrome CLA artwork features signature elements, including her hallmark “Princess of Rap” diamond-encrusted chain jewellery. This theme extends to the limited capsule fashion collection of black and pastel t-shirts, hoodies and more, set to launch soon.
As a New York native who first hit the music scene in late 2021, Ice Spice was a perfect fit to kick off the ‘Class of Creators’ multi-collaboration thanks to her iconic style and spirit of confidence and empowerment.

Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan celebrates grand opening of fully renovated dealership with its New York Community

To mark the grand opening of Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan following an extensive renovation, the dealership welcomed around 350 guests – including customers, retail partners and media for a night of art, innovation, and culture.

The exclusive evening celebrated “Stars, Sounds & Slices” – a vibrant New York-style experience, complemented by engaging performances from the cast of the Broadway hit show Hell’s Kitchen. In addition to the market premiere of the all-new CLA and the reveal of the art piece by Ice Spice, Brooklyn-based artist and DJ LPX kept the energy high, providing an electrifying soundtrack for the party.

What’s next for the ‘Class of Creators’?

The ‘Class of Creators’ initiative seeks to empower a diverse group of creative collaborators – Ice Spice, interior designer Gustaf Westman from Sweden, U.S. fashion designer and artist, Colm Dillane, aka KidSuper, toy car brand Hot Wheels and gaming platform League of Legends – to explore and express individualisation, aesthetics, and design through the lens of the all-new CLA and to interpret it as an art piece. The goal? Taking a fresh artistic perspective on the meaning of the storied automotive brand as a way of connecting with diverse communities as the CLA kicks off a new era for Mercedes-Benz.

Throughout the year, in a series of exclusive events, each of the five creatives will present their artistic vision by creating their one-of-a-kind art piece and unveiling related content inspired by the all-new CLA. Some will be accompanied by a purchasable collection reflecting the artist’s signature style and area of focus. Gustaf Westman’s event will follow on May 22, with Kid Super debuting his art piece on June 28th. Details on the final two collaborations will be announced later this year.
