How we’re helping customers navigate the pace of change

Change in the tech world has always been a constant, but the pace and breadth of change facing enterprises today has hit new heights. Businesses have had to rethink their technology strategies to stay competitive, resilient and agile.

In a recent paper, global market intelligence provider IDC addressed the needs of the future enterprise:

‘The future enterprise will leverage a mix of centralized cloud and distributed edge locations to optimize cost and performance across domains. Improving sustainability performance will rank high on the future enterprise agenda, driven by pressure from various sides including regulatory, public awareness, and investment communities.’[1]

Faced with this, only 20% of businesses believe their network infrastructure is ready for the future[2] and, what’s more, we’ve seen other reports that show a majority of CIOs don’t want to change, it’s being forced upon them. For those in this situation, the complexity of modern digital transformation can be overwhelming, making it difficult to determine where to begin.

Time for a new approach

‘Organizations are increasingly looking for solutions that deliver specific business outcomes, rather than technological specifications. More than ever, organisations will take a use-case approach to set investment priorities and select the right solution.’[3]

To help customers navigate the pace of change, we need to take away worries and concerns. Whether that’s bringing in expertise where they need it, taking out the complexity of multiple partner relationships or advising on the impact of new technologies, our role is helping them find the best path ahead.

We were talking to one of our big multi-national customers recently and they said something that really stood out: “Don’t sell me a product you hope I have a problem it will solve.  Understand my problems and provide me with a solution!”

Innovation and managing the pace of change has been in Colt’s DNA since we were founded. Now, with our enhanced portfolio from the acquisition of Lumen EMEA, we are uniquely equipped to help cut through the noise and work on business-led initiatives. Whether that’s modernising network infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, or making informed decisions about cloud migration. My colleague Peter Coppens discussed our capability in his blog earlier this year, highlighting our leading positions in infrastructure and connectivity, and, together with our new solutions capability and industry partnerships, we can help customers with what matters most.
