The digital transformation arm of e& outlined an agreement to jointly develop an Industry 4.0 plan with UAE-based Exeed Industries, a tie-up spanning production of various building materials intended to contribute to broader modernisation efforts.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between e& enterprise and Exeed Industries covers a multi-year project to advance the digital transformation of the company’s factories in the UAE.
The operator’s digital transformation division intends to work with five individual Exeed Industries sites to develop a roadmap for the modernisation project. The company is a division of UAE investment operation National Holdings, active in the production of precast and autoclaved aerated concrete goods.
Exeed Industries’ digital transformation project is expected to make it eligible for funding from the Smart Manufacturing Accelerator Programme, an Abu Dhabi government scheme.
Technologies targeted as part of the digital transformation plan include those spanning Industrial IoT with AI and generative iterations, digital twins, and predictive maintenance and automation.
AI will also be used for demand forecasting, quality control, energy optimisation, and integrating environmental, social and governance platforms.
Acting e& enterprise CRO Majd Coussa said the MoU is “a model for how we aim to work with forward-looking manufacturers”.
The pair plan to “co-develop scalable solutions that align with the UAE’s goals for innovation, sustainability and economic diversification”, he said.
Exeed Industries CEO Mohammed AlAmeer, said it is evolving its “manufacturing capabilities to meet the demands of a future-ready industrial sector”.
e& enterprise highlighted its own and broader UAE sustainability goals will sit at the heart of its work with Exeed Industries, along with government targets around becoming a global manufacturing hub.
