Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking and security, today announced the appointment of Chintan Patel as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Previously CTO for Cisco in the UK & Ireland, Patel will now oversee Cisco’s technology strategy and alignment across the EMEA region. In his new role, he will advance relationships with key strategic customers and partners, while also working with industry leaders and academia to identify emerging technologies and trends. This will further enable Cisco to continue revolutionizing how it connects and protects organisations in the AI era.
In addition to his role as CTO, he will lead the Solutions Engineering (SE) community across EMEA. He will work with global product development teams to design solutions tailored to the region’s unique needs, as organisations strive to future proof their workplaces, build AI-ready data centres and increase their digital resilience.

Including his most recent role in the UK & Ireland, Patel has been with Cisco for nearly 20 years in various engineering roles, building expertise in customer segments and corporate and strategy development. As a technology evangelist Patel continues to represent Cisco with customers, in industry and in engagement with government and academia.
Prior to Cisco he held technical roles in several industries. He is an active member of Tech UK various technology industry bodies, representing Cisco and the industry in forums dedicated to growing digital and engineering skills, he also holds the position of Board Trustee with FutureDotNow a coalition of industry leaders focused on closing the digital skills gap for working age adults in the UK.
