What is “GEN Z and the New Generation of European Volunteers” about?

This 3rd edition brings together 25–30 former volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps Programme or other volunteering schemes, who completed their experience at least one year ago, to reflect on their experiences, explore motivations behind volunteering, and identify current and future needs of young volunteers. The aim is to shape stronger support systems and improve volunteering opportunities within the European Solidarity Corps.

The event will focus on:

  • Understanding what drives young people to volunteer today, and what topics and challenges they care about.
  • Sharing experiences from different volunteering formats and identifying trends and barriers.
  • Discussing how to increase the impact of volunteering during and after the experience.
  • Exploring the future potential of the ESC programme and youth involvement in shaping it.
  • Learning about EU youth policies and programmes.
  • Empowering participants to connect with their communities and become active multipliers or ambassadors.
