Albie Donnelly’s Supercharge performs for Audi Forum jazz series

Albie Donnelly is returning to Ingolstadt with his band Supercharge. The British bandleader and his German ensemble will play the Audi Forum on Thursday, March 20, at 8 p.m. as part of the jazz concert series. Tickets for the concert at the Audi museum mobile are now on sale in the Audi ticket shop.

None other than blues legend B. B. King once described Albie Donnelly’s Supercharge as “the best rhythm and blues band in Europe.” In its long history, the group has shared the stage with the King of Blues himself as well as with Queen, Fats Domino, and Chuck Berry. The band was formed in 1973.

Bandleader Albie Donnelly hails from Liverpool and previously worked as a studio musician with Irish rock star Bob Geldof and his band The Boomtown Rats, among others. Known for his full beard, sunglasses, and distinctive raspy voice, the 77-year-old Donnelly has also been a solo act since 1992.

Cool vibes, sizzling music, and a great show

At the Audi museum mobile, Albie Donnelly’s Supercharge are set to perform the rhythm and blues, swing, and feel-good rock and roll that have made the band so successful for decades. In addition to Donnelly, the septet currently consists of trombonist Thorsten Heitzmann, tenor-baritone saxophonist Jürgen Wieching, guitarist and singer André Tolba, organist Sascha Kühn, bassist Wolfgang Diekmann, and drummer Uwe Petersen. Together, they are considered the epitome of coolness, cracking music, and the best show in the scene.

Tickets for the concert featuring Albie Donnelly with band Supercharge on March 20 at 8 p.m. at the Audi museum mobile are now on sale for 25 euros (reduced price 20 euros) in the
