Late Thursday, Trump axed Fauci’s taxpayer-funded security detail and limousine service, citing his hefty earnings from vaccines and patents, and made it clear he wouldn’t take responsibility if anything happened to him.
“President Donald Trump has terminated Dr. Anthony Fauci’s security detail that was being provided and paid for by the National Institutes of Health, a source familiar with the situation tells CNN. It was pulled on Thursday night,” CNN reported.

“Given he continues to face ongoing threats due to his public-facing role during the Covid-19 pandemic, Fauci has now hired his own private security that he’ll pay for himself, the source told CNN,” the outlet reported.
As reported earlier, American taxpayers continued to foot the bill for Dr. Fauci’s luxury security detail and transportation long after his retirement from public service.
Records from the U.S. Marshals revealed that Fauci received 24/7 protection and limousine services—benefits typically reserved for the President, Vice President, and their immediate families.
Fauci retired from the federal bureaucracy as the highest-paid government employee, with a $480,654 salary, and a net worth of reportedly at least $11 million.
He also is set to receive an annual retirement payment of $350,000.
OpentheBooks reported that over the past two years, Fauci also received $15,000,000 in taxpayer-funded security services despite him having returned to private citizenship.
On Friday President Trump was asked about his decision to pull Fauci’s security as he visited Asheville, North Carolina to tour the hurricane damage.
“Would you feel personally responsible if something were to happen to Dr. Fauci or John Bolton?” a reporter asked Trump.
Trump showed no mercy.
Without skipping a beat Trump replied, “No.”
Trump continued, “You know, they all made a lot of money. They can hire their own security, too. All the people you’re talking about they can go out – I can give them some good numbers of very good security people – they can hire their own security. They all made a lot of money. Fauci made a lot of money. They all did so if they felt that strongly – certainly I would not take responsibility,” Trump told reporters.
