Lenovo-owned Motorola launched the latest version of its flip-style foldable carrying the Razr branding, alongside a series of other smartphones, earbuds and a watch, with the new batch of devices promoted as benefitting from upgraded AI features.
Its latest flagship flip phone, Razr 60 Ultra, is claimed by the manufacturer to be the most powerful of its form factor in the world, given use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and fast charging technology.
The standard Razr 60 uses a Mediatek Dimensity 7400X processor.
Motorola noted the pair came in a variety of finishes including a version which is said to be the first foldable available with a wood finish.
Among the AI-related features pushed by the company are improved prompts for the small external display, including summaries of messages and access to its recorder tool.
Moto Razr 60 Ultra has a 4-inch external display and a 7-inch internal one. It features a triple 50MP camera system and 4,700mAh battery.
The standard Razr 60 has a 50MP main camera and 13MP ultra-wide and macro vision lens set-up. It has a slightly smaller external and internal display than the flagship and uses a 4,500mAh battery.
The higher-end model is priced at just below $1,300 in the US, while the standard handset is $700. In that market devices will be available in May though in some countries they can be ordered this month.
Its other devices launched yesterday (24 April) comprise the latest in its mid-range smartphone range under the Edge 60 badge and new wearables the moto watch fit and moto buds loop.
All of its new range were promoted on using moto AI to improve the user experience, alongside providing various other upgrades to equivalent products from earlier in its respective ranges.
